Eave Vents
Venting via your eaves can be a convenient and pracitical method of ventilating your house - and can often be more practical than venting via the roof or wall. Ventilation from the roof cavity is important for a number of reasons, including: to reduce mold build-up in winter or heat build-up in the roof in summer, to expel moisture from laundry, kitchen, bathroom fans and rangehoods - and to provide an intake of air if you have a rotary type roof ventilator. The Pacific Air range has several diffierent styles (in aluminium, steel and plastic) vents in various sizes. All plastic eave vents are UV stabilised to prevent against yellowing and becoming brittle from the sun.
Recent changes to the National Construction Code (including the new Condensation Management section) mandate that in new homes air from exhaust systems in bathroom, toilets and laundries must now be discharged externally (under 3.8.7.3) - and cannot just vent into the roof space (unless the honorous provisions of section 3.8.7.4). This requires a large number of roof ventilators and even more eave vents to supply fresh air - and is unlikely to be a financially viable alternative. Therefore venting from the eaves is often the cheapest and easiest alternative.
Snap-in Eave Vents
This stylish new rangeof eave vents (also called soffit vents) can be an easy way of expelling air from exhaust system into your eave. With a cutting template and clips, these vents can be installed in minutes without the need for screws. A long neck makes attachment of duct a simple process. Another benefit is that the face simply clips out so 2mm aperture mesh can be added to make the vent BAL compliant for houses in a bushfire region. A butterfly damper is also included to regulate air flow if required, With full UV protection, these vents will survive the tough Australian elements. These are the ideal solution to recent National Construction Code changes under 3.8.7.3.
Plastic Grille Vents
These screw-in grille style vents also come in 2 sizes - 125mm and 150mm. They are constructed from UV stabilised polypropylene material for maximum life. They are designed for either wall or eave use and are compatible with semi rigid duct or flexible foil duct, as they have a neck to attach to ducting. They are an economical alternative to the Snap-In Eave Vents
Metal Eave Vents
We have a range of steel and aluminium eave vents. Both are stylish and durable. They comply with BAL-40 bushfire rating under AS 3959. They are in 200x400mm sizes. Their most common use is in conjunction with a rotary roof ventilator or for general roof ventilation. Compliant with NCC 3.8.7.4.
